Growing up, Tayla was always involved in unique sports (e.g., martial arts). So, after moving from the country to the big smoke, she took up the most unusual sport she could think of…

Olympic weightlifting. Tayla is known to love a good challenge, so after three years of Olympic weightlifting she decided to have a go at something she has never thought of doing, CrossFit.

Starting CrossFit in 2019 at Fibre Active, Tayla has been hooked and competed in her first individual (intermediate) competition in January 2021 coming in 6th out of 27. You will find her most days at the box training in classes or doing a solo session.

Outside of the box, Tayla has been a Science Outreach presenter, Environmental Scientist and now turned IT Learning Manager. Common theme and passion across these fields is presenting, education and coaching lots of people from different walks of life. So, you could say it was fate for her to eventually take on coaching at Fibre Active.

Tayla is passionate about continuous learning and helping those around her reach their fitness goals through education and of course having fun.
